Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the Vietnam E-Visa process, fees, and requirements.
qWhat is a Vietnam e-visa?
qCan I get a Visa on Arrival in Vietnam?
While "Visa on Arrival" was once common, Vietnam's e-visa is now the standard, official, and fastest option for travelers. Visa on Arrival is now limited to tour groups and certain non-tourism cases, making the e-visa the best choice for individual travelers.
qWho can apply for an e-visa?
Foreign travelers outside Vietnam who have a valid passport and are not visa-exempt can apply for a Vietnam e-visa. Check the Vietnam visa exemption list here to see whether you need to apply for an e-visa. Check here.
qHow long is the e-visa valid for?
E-visas can be valid for 30 or 90 days and can be single or multiple entry, depending on your application choice.
qWhat is the difference between a single-entry and a multiple-entry visa?
A single-entry visa allows you to enter Vietnam once. If you leave Vietnam, the visa can no longer be used.
A multiple-entry visa allows you to enter and leave Vietnam multiple times during the visa's validity period, so you can return to Vietnam without applying for a new visa each time.qHow soon can I get my expedited e-visa?
Processing time typically ranges from 1 hour to 5 business days, depending on the service option selected. Approved e-visas are delivered directly to your email as quickly as 1 hour after acceptance. (Please note that processing times depend on eligibility and government processing.)
qWhat documents do I need to apply for?
You'll need:
● A valid passport (with at least 6 months remaining past your intended arrival date)
